Yes, Martha West and I
were married at the Dallas Petroleum Club in the presence
and with the loving support of all our children and
grandchildren on Wednesday August 8. We had already enjoyed
the honeymoon with our trip to Tuscany with the MIT Alumni
Assn, and having done so in happiness, we decided to proceed
to the wedding. Now that the deed is done, we shall continue
the honeymoon with the opera in Santa Fe Aug 21, followed by
two weeks in California, where we attend a conference on MRI
and Sports Medicine in San Francisco. One or both of us will
now be gone except for an occasional return to change
clothes until after Dec 1. Still, I look forward to again
sharing some time with my Unitarian friends.

Erika reports that her lovely backyard water garden has
become an oasis for frantic bullfrogs during our extended
period of dry weather. Unfortunately, their singing
at night has not been quite the lullaby intended for the
humans trying to sleep nearby. Attempts to block the
melodious emanations with earplugs were to no avail, so
the oasis was drained temporarily, much to the chagrin of
the cohabitating koi, who were forced to find temporary
residence in a common barrel. The frogs were not
moved by these efforts at eviction, and latest word from
the front is that the ultimate weapon, the frog-gig, is
soon to be pressed into service. RIBBIT.
